"My artwork is a socialogical artistic view of my everyday existence."
Theodore G. Waters III was born, and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He always had a keen eye and interest in the visual arts. It was not until attending Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Americas oldest African- American institution of higher learning where Theodore was able to receive formal art training. It is there where he refined his artistic abilities, expression, appreciation of the fine arts, and discovered his own philosophy to the creative process. In his studies, studio classes were geared towards selecting mediums that best fits his style, and approach. Theodore leans more towards the mediums of oil, watercolor, pencil, and photography.
After graduating from Cheyney University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Theodore’s art work has premiered in multiple exhibits at Cheyney University, Temple University, and The Philadelphia October Gallery. Has also taken part in the 2011 Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, where he was a runner up for the worldwide photo competition, and won the Philadelphia Italian Market Local Prize.
Theodore is currently working on a project titled, “The Visionary Project” that focuses on visionary legends of the African Diaspora. This project is set to be released sometime in 2017. Theodore will most recently premier art work at the Philadelphia Art Museum with Pianist/Composer Kendrah Butler as part of her presentation with her Peculiar People Orchestra in February of 2017.
In addition to Theodore’s passion in the arts, he currently works for the City of Philadelphia as a Digital Recording Technician and Appeals Management.
